Rivendell were recently appointed by Detailed Developments to install safety flooring in the toilet units of two primary schools in Somerset.

Safety flooring is an area we have plenty of experience in and are able to provide high quality flooring solutions, tailored to the unique needs of schools and educational facilities.

With a commitment to safety and hygiene, Rivendell utilised Polyflor Polysafe vinyl sheets to ensure optimal performance in environments prone to moisture and heavy footfall.

The team undertook the work during the Easter holidays, while the schools were closed. Our team of specialist fitters embarked on enhancing the safety and cleanliness of the toilet facilities, working with the excellent team at Detailed Developments.  

Choosing the right flooring

When the team arrived on site the area had been prepared, the original flooring uplifted and cleared for our team to lay the latex and then the vinyl.

Understanding the importance of safety flooring in areas susceptible to slips and falls, our team used Polyflor Polysafe vinyl sheets specifically for their slip resistance and bacterial-resistant properties.

Additionally, to ensure seamless transitions between floor finishes and to create a hygienic environment, our team formed coved upstands and installed threshold strips.

These measures not only enhanced the aesthetics of the space but contributed to easier maintenance and longevity of the flooring.
