Rivendell Donates to Avon Valley Riding Centre

The team have been particularly busy over the last few weeks, and in the lead up to Christmas have supplied and fitted a host of beautiful new carpets and floors to both domestic and commercial properties.

But that wasn’t going to slow us down. In fact, with the Christmas cheer all around, and in the spirit of the season of good will, Rivendell recently ventured to the Avon Valley Riding Centre to assist the charity with a much needed revamp.

Who Are Avon Valley Riding Centre?

Providing a positive experience and proven therapeutic benefits of horse riding, Avon Valley Riding Centre is recognised as a “Centre of Excellence” for children and adults with a range of complex special needs.

Working with more than 280 disabled individuals each year, the centre offers a carefully structured programme of riding sessions for those who attend. With attendees ranging in age from just 4 years old to almost 80, the centre really is a fantastic charity.

New Floors for Improved Therapy Facilities

When the staff at Avon Valley Riding Centre wrote a letter to Rivendell to explain they needed a charitable donation in the form of their latest project, we couldn’t refuse.

“As a charity, we need as much help and support we can get so when they said yes, we were thrilled”.

Within the main building, a small little room housed the belongings of staff, clients, and their carers whilst they were out riding. However, the riding team knew that it had much more potential and therefore wanted to use the space so that they could branch out on the types of therapy provided and beyond just equine.

Whilst the Riding Centre wanted something that looked attractive, they knew it needed to be hardwearing to cope with wheelchairs and footfall. This also meant that it needed to be easy to keep clean.

Looking for something light in colour that would brighten up the room and project a positive mood, the client already had an idea of what they wanted in mind . But when it came to selecting the exact material for their particular purpose, our expertise really came in handy.  We provided an onsite consultation with a selection of samples ready to discuss ideas before a fantastic vinyl flooring with wood effect was chosen.
