Transform Your Home This Autumn

November 4, 2014 5:19 pm Published by

We are officially in the midst of the beautiful British Autumn. The air is significantly crisper, leaves crunchier and we are showered with beautiful colours of gold, red and orange. At such a beautiful time of year is it any surprise that we find inspiration from the great outdoors?

As such we wanted to share some of the new carpet and flooring products and trends that are making news this Autumn. They will hopefully give you some inspiration for your home whether it’s the kitchen, lounge, bedroom or even bathroom you are looking to transform.

Discover the beauty of nature from your Home

Unexpected_Nature by Forbo

This Autumn one of our favourite flooring manufacturers Forbo, makers of quality linoleum and Marmoleum, are taking us a step further with their new ‘Unexpected Nature’ range. Taking inspiration from stunning locations across the globe – think Italian rivers & gorges, volcanic explosions and the deep valleys of the Black Canyon they are looking to bring experiences like these into your home and everyday life.

Taking a step back from traditional elements and drawing instead on nature’s more unusual hues, their new collection of vinyl flooring offers a choice of 18 dazzling colours including 9 marble designs and 9 striped ones.

With names such as frozen autumn, rustling leaves and stormy weather to name but a few you really can bring the feeling of Autumn into your home.

Made from natural, renewable materials and certified as meeting requirements of the Good Environment Choice Standard you can create a unique space with truly sustainable flooring.

Punchy patterns making a comeback

Patterned carpet is definitely returning to favour this Autumn as interior designers look to use the floor as a fifth wall. The warm fruit colours of red and orange as well as some metallic and natural tones are all featuring as they continue to embrace bolder colours and patterns not just on walls and furnishings but now also across the floor.

The new Quirky B carpet collection from Alternative Flooring, featured in Novembers issue of Home & Garden has been specifically designed to meet this latest pattern trend.

Designed by Margo Selby and Ashley Hicks, it features a vast selection of colourful geometric designs such as Fair Isle, Chainmail and Daisy (see below) as well as more alternative choices such as zebra and polka dot prints all woven on traditional carpet looms.

Whilst these designs might not be for everyone, they certainly provide a bold, statement look for the more adventurous!
