Despite being promised an Indian Summer that didn’t quite deliver, we love Autumn. And we’re officially making headway through the crunchy leaves, crisp air, and beautiful colours of reds and oranges.
With a new season comes new trends as we saw throughout September with Fashion Week in London, New York and Paris. Perhaps unsurprisingly the interior design world isn’t any different with new lines being added to collections from Alternative Flooring and Karndean to name a few.

Despite your best efforts your carpets are likely to become victim to a host of spills, blemishes, and other accidents. You’ll therefore spend a great deal of time cleaning your carpet during its lifetime to ensure that it keeps the vibrancy and comfort it possessed the day it was first laid.

Your floor is an essential fixture of your home, that’s obvious. Therefore it should continue to look and feel great throughout the house whether it’s carpet, wood, or vinyl. Take a moment to imagine vinyl. What do you picture?
Unfortunately the likelihood is that you conjure up images of cheap industrial style flooring. Perhaps you associate the designs and quality with old school gyms and dining halls and as a result have avoided this fantastic flooring choice as a result.
However, this is certainly no longer the case. And it’s therefore time to stop stereotyping vinyl flooring.
Manufacturers have done their homework and completed appropriate modifications to vinyl flooring so that new styles of luxury vinyl & Marmoleum are just as attractive as they are durable.

We have said it before and we’ll say it again, but at Rivendell we truly believe in doing our bit for the planet. Whether you recycle, take shorter showers, go paperless, or help the planet in other ways every little bit counts and it’s really rather important.
At our office we exercise a strict recycling policy as well as making sure we dispose of old flooring when fitting carpets, vinyl or wooden floors in all our clients homes. We’re even members of a number of environmental organisations such as the Woodland Trust and Children’s Scrap Store.
With all of this in mind, why not go one step further and make your home eco-friendly too? This month, our MD Mandy has been sampling some very special and equally beautiful environmentally friendly carpets made from plastic bottles. Yes, that’s right recycled plastic bottles.

Last month Rivendell Carpet & Flooring acquired a brand new van which has enabled us to nip

Despite the ‘big freeze’ hitting us throughout January, the nights are getting lighter and we will soon be able to leave behind our bobble hats and scarves in favour of shorts and sunglasses.
